Ways to Introduce the Benefits of Feng Shui to Your Garden

When applied to your yard, feng shui design will introduce its healthy energy into your home as well.

Do not be concerned if your yard is considered too little for feng shui design, as size is relatively unimportant. A huge area is great for those fortunate enough to have it, but a smaller area can still be useful in feng shui design.

Whether you are adding feng shui design to your home or garden, the tools are the same. Your yard's bagua, or energy map, is an off-shoot of your house's bagua, so it is important to determine your home’s first. 94-913-1801__35246.jpg

There are five elements in feng shui theory, and you should learn how to apply each of them to maximize the energy.

The Earth element, for example, should be integrated in the northeast section of your garden which is linked to the personal growth and self-cultivation energy in feng shui design. A Zen garden with some pretty natural rocks is ideal for that spot, as the rocks represent the Earth element.

Southeast (money and abundance), East (health & family), and North (career & path in life) are feng shui areas perfect for a water element.

Acqua Vergine: The Solution to Rome's Water Problems

Rome’s 1st raised aqueduct, Aqua Anio Vetus, was built in 273 BC; prior to that, inhabitants residing at higher elevations had to depend on natural springs for their water. When aqueducts or springs weren’t available, people dwelling at raised elevations turned to water pulled from underground or rainwater, which was made possible by wells and cisterns. Beginning in the sixteenth century, a unique program was introduced, using Acqua Vergine’s subterranean segments to supply water to Pincian Hill. Pozzi, or manholes, were made at regular stretches along the aqueduct’s channel. While these manholes were developed to make it simpler and easier to maintain the aqueduct, it was also possible to use buckets to remove water from the channel, which was carried out by Cardinal Marcello Crescenzi from the time he bought the property in 1543 to his death in 1552. Even though the cardinal also had a cistern to collect rainwater, it couldn't supply sufficient water. That is when he made the decision to create an access point to the aqueduct that ran underneath his property.

How Fountains Add to Your Life

There are countless advantages to be gained from outdoor fountains including improved air quality as well as wonderful sounds and sights. They provide many health benefits and create a lovely environment to entertain loved ones. Each person, however, tends to enjoy their own individual benefits from a fountain. It might carry you back to a special time or place you fondly remember.

When you look at it, you may flash back to a special person you once knew. Or maybe you want to build one to remind you of someone you have lost. Regardless, it will be yours and yours alone and also bring so much to your world.

Contained Water Features: Are They Convenient?

Since contained fountains are both low-cost and easy to install, they are very popular. Since all materials are included with the fountain, no extra parts are required. There is another use for the term “self-contained”, a reference to a fountain that has its own water reservoir.

Since they do not involve much work to install, self-contained fountains are ideal for patios and porches. Their versatility is also an advantage, as they are very uncomplicated to move around.

The place you want to situate your fountain will need to be even, so your landscaper will need to first determine if this is the case. Any holes and bumps can easily be leveled by your landscaper. The time has come to position your water feature where you want it and fill it with water. It is finally time to plug it in using either an electrical outlet, a solar panel, or batteries.

Anyone who does not have direct access to a water source or external plumbing should consider a self-contained fountain. The center of a garden is a popular spot for a water fountain so as to get the most visibility, even though they can be placed anywhere. There are a number of materials that can be used to craft them including cast stone, metal, ceramic, and fiberglass.

Container Herb Gardening: What You Want to Learn and More

To make the perfect herb garden, try container gardening. If you enjoy being in the kitchen or yard, you are going to most likely be drawn to the world of herbs. These simple to grow, unique plants provide instant delight since they can be included in everyday dishes such as soups and marinades. It only takes a little time each day to maintain your herb garden, and if you own planter gardens and potted herbs, they can be placed inside once autumn begins to freeze - so you can take delight in your herbs all year long. Some herbs will be set to harvest earlier than others due to their varying growth rates. Just like any pastime, herb gardening necessitates a degree of perseverance. Do not expect to necessarily see results on the first or second day, but it is essential to tend to an herb garden with consistency as things will develop with time.

The Hanging Gardens of Babylon, one of the Seven Wonders of the World, were actually gardens planned and planted on roof terraces. They were designed to be water-proof and placed over a big, curved stone substructure with substantial storage rooms underneath. Water was brought up to the terraces by hydraulic devices and the terrace soil was deep enough to cultivate trees. The plants most commonly grown on the terraces were thyme, poppy, anise, and rosemary.

The Far-Reaching Benefits of Water Features

Having a fountain around can enhance your day-to-day life as the soothing sound of the water provides a sense of tranquility, and the movement of the water serves to clean and moisten the air.

You might not even be aware of the degree to which a water fountain, whether inside or outside, will improve your life. It is most likely no coincidence that the human body is made up primarily of water, and that people are driven to coastal cities. All living creatures need water to exist, and while you could move to an expensive house on the beach somewhere, a much easier and cheaper option is to install a water feature wherever you live.

The installation of an outdoor garden fountain to any patio, terrace, or veranda will make a huge difference to your enjoyment of the space. Outdoor water features can further elevate even the most gorgeous space. If you have a screened porch, think about installing one there, or if not, then on the outside wall above your patio. Add charm and the lovely music of flowing water to your flower bed with a tiered model. The flow of the water in birdbath fountains, as compared to motionless water, signifies that bacteria and algae will not accumulate in the water, making for cleaner water for wild birds. Add the finishing touch with the tranquil sound of running water in your garden.
